Hammondsport assists Wayne

On Thursday afternoon at 12:23pm Wayne and Hammondsport fire Departments were toned for a structure fire at 9086 Fleet road Town of Wayne. Hammondsports 2101 was on scene at 12:30:00, advising fire control he had smoke coming from the eaves of a single story double wide. Wayne's Engine-44 was on scene moments later with a crew of 4. Hammondsports Engine-24 arrived moments later with a crew of 6. A line was pulled from E-44 and went in the front door to attack the seat of the fire in a rear bathroom. Hammondsport pulled a 2nd line and staged at the front door with a RIT team. The fire was quickly located and was knocked down in the 1st 10 minutes of action. Wayne had 3 pieces of apparatus and 15 men on scene. Hammondsport had 4 pieces and 23 firefighters on scene. Damage was limited to the rear bathroom. there was no structural damage but some smoke and very little water damage due to the quick attack. Once again because of the many hours these 2 fire departments drill and work together it was a very successful operation. 3 dogs were rescued from the home ,and there were no injuries to those involved. Hammondsport Volunteer Ambulance stood by at the scene monitoring the firefighters and did supply some Oxygen to 1 of the dogs. Steuben Car 93 was on scene as the Deputy Co-coordinator. Car-92 and Car 90 assisted with the investigation which appears accidental at this time....
